Experience Maasai Culture with Serengeti Under Canvas
02 Apr 2008
Guests visiting our Serengeti Under Canvas camps can now also enjoy community visits to the nearby Ereto community, located at Sero-sub village in the Ololosokwan community. These visits will be offered for approximately six months of the year (from June to December), when at least one of our three semi-permanent camps is based in the northern Serengeti on the Klein's Camp private concession. Guests will gain insight into the Maasai culture by spending time in a community that still practices traditional Maasai ways. Early morning or late afternoon visits to the cultural boma will incorporate:
- A talk about how CC Africa is empowering the community by providing HIV/AIDS awareness training including the planting of vegetable gardens
- A visit to the Ololosokwan Clinic
- A traditional Maasai dance ceremony (dependent on Maasai schedules)
(Maximum 5 guests; additional cost – 100% goes to the community)
