Across the group, CC Africans gathered to commemorate World AIDS day and help create awareness. What a positive day! Ngorongoro Crater Lodge: the NCL team joined the 'Maasai mamas' from a nearby community for a 6 km walk to distribute informative posters displaying messages about HIV/AIDS.
They sang AIDS awareness songs and did body exercises along the way. Nairobi Office: the NBO team organised a walk followed by a healthy lunch for the children and families of the Lea Toto Outreach Programme. The rain did not deter them as they celebrated with a live band and local comedians. The walk was aimed at creating awareness of the importance of getting tested early. Some staff took this opportunity to get tested at the VCT centre that same day!
Kichwa Tembo: the Kichwa team and Governor's Camp got together for some yoga and a friendly football match. There was also an open HIV/AIDS forum presented by Dr. Kirui of Lolgorian Hospital and the Kichwa Tembo Positive Health coordinators.
Exeter Private Game Reserve & Kirkman's Kamp: the teams visited the nearby community of Huntington to deliver food parcels, Christmas gifts and a healthy meal to the orphans of the Huntington AIDS Clinic. Joyce also gave an inspiring talk about the powers of Positive Health.
Phinda Private Game Reserve: the Phinda team arranged a Goal is Life soccer day. A total of eight teams took part in this soccer extravaganza, some coming from as far as Jozini and Umfolozi. Elsje encouraged the teams with a talk about health, goals and dreams.
