• CC Africa was nominated as a finalist for the Responsible Tourism – overall winner category at the Imvelo Responsible Tourism Awards

• Skal International, the largest international organisation of travel and tourism professionals, annually issues Ecotourism Awards to highlight and acknowledge best practices around the globe. Winners were announced recently at the Skal International 2005 Annual World Congress in Croatia, attended by members from all around the world.

• CC Africa was awarded the Ecotourism Award in the Overall category.

• CC Africa was listed as one of three finalists in 2005 Tourism for Tomorrow Awards - in the Investor in People category

• CC Africa wins US Condé Nast Traveler Eco-Tourism Award 2000.

• CC Africa wins the SA Green Trust Award in Corporate Category for 1993.

Matetsi Game Lodge was awarded the "Greatest Contribution to the Development of the Tourism Industry in Zimbabwe" from Zimbabwe Tourism Authority's Travel Expo in 1997.

KICHWA TEMBO

• Kichwa Tembo is awarded a bronze eco rating by Ecotourism Kenya

Ecotourism Kenya manages a scheme that certifies tourist accommodation facilities in Kenya. The Eco-rating Scheme, as the scheme is called, is an initiative of the Kenyan tourism industry that is designed to further the goals of sustainable tourism by recognizing efforts aimed at promoting environmental, social and economic values. Eco-rating is a systematic approach for verifying a tourism organizations performance when evaluated against an agreed suite of criteria.

BONGANI MOUNTAIN LODGE

• Endangered Wildlife Trust 1997

Bongani Mountain Lodge wins the Endangered Wildlife Trust award for outstanding contribution to the conservation of biodiversity in May 1997.


 
 

KWANDWE PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

• National Geographic Traveler Magazine 2004

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve was a finalist for National Geographic Traveler Magazine 2004 World Legacy Award.

• Best Social Involvement Programme

Kwandwe was nominated as one of three finalists in the Best Social Involvement Programme category in the second annual Imvelo Responsible Tourism Awards 2003 to honour southern African tourism businesses that implement sustainable Environmental, social and economic programmes.


 
 

NGALA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

• Thomas Cook Responsible Tourism Award 2006

Ngala Private Game Reserve has received the Responsible Tourism Award in recognition of business improvements designed to benefit and sustain the local community.

• Getty Green Lodge Award 2005

The Ngala Green Team won first prize in the 2005 competition, as the CC Africa lodge which has made the greatest progress in terms of environmental issues. A specially construction recycling station which sees 90% of all waste removed and recycled, is a key aspect of the lodge's responsible tourism.

Phinda Private Game Reserve won the Imvelo Responsible Tourism Award for 2002.

• Phoenix Award for Conservation Tourism 2004

Phinda was named as the recipient of the esteemed Phoenix Award for Conservation Tourism from the Society of American Writers (SATW) 2004.

• Best Conservation Practice Award 1998

Phinda's Isaac Themba won the Best Conservation Practice award for 1998.

• British Airways Tourism for Tomorrow Award 1997

Phinda Private Game Reserve was awarded the British Airways Tourism for Tomorrow Award for the Southern region in 1997.
